Kybella Before and After Q&A
The transformative results of Kybella can last for years and a lifetime in some cases. Kybella is used to restore lost volume in the cheeks, lips, and face. Plump fine lines, contour lips, fill in cheek hollows, and restore youthful volume. Deoxycholic acid is used in Kybella to reduce submental fullness, popularly known as the “double chin.” Sculpted Medical Spa offers Kybella. With Kybella, you can expect long-lasting results. Most people who undergo this treatment should see results for several years, sometimes even a lifetime. It is partly because of how deoxycholic acid interacts with fat cells in the body and partly because fat cells behave in a certain way.
A fat cell behaves differently from any other cell in the body. There is a skin cell turnover cycle because skin cells regenerate regularly, but fat cells have less predictability. It is actually impossible for fat cells to regenerate.
Genetics also determines how fat cells store and use fat in each of us, and we are born with a predetermined number of fat cells. Fat cells cannot grow or reform once they are destroyed, unlike skin cells. Injectable treatments that contain deoxycholic acid destroy fat cells in injected areas, which means those fat cells will be eliminated for good.
Injections of Kybella (deoxycholic acid) are considered noninvasive and may pose fewer risks than surgery. There are, however, side effects associated with Kybella injections, including swelling post-injection.
During the process of breaking down fat cells on your chin, deoxycholic acid may cause an inflammatory reaction on your skin. Over the next few weeks, the swelling should gradually subside. A common side effect of injections is swelling and bruising at the injection site.
It’s important to space Kybella injections out. Besides allowing the active ingredient time to target submental fat in the chin, it also allows your body time to heal between treatments. Injections too close together may increase your risk of side effects, such as swelling.
The treatment with Kybella is non-invasive, and there is no significant downtime associated with it. It is likely that you will be able to return to work immediately after your session. There are no noticeable physical effects other than swelling, minor redness, and possibly some bruising. Kybella can cause some post-injection discomfort, but this can be easily resolved with over-the-counter pain relievers. In a week or two, any bruising, redness, or tenderness at the injection site should disappear.
Injecting Kybella is a method for permanently removing fat, but it’s important to keep in mind that it’s not a miracle cure. In spite of the fact that fat cells in the treatment areas will not return, fat cells in untreated areas can expand if you do not maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine. Combining Kybella with a healthy lifestyle can make a long-lasting difference to your appearance.
In most cases, Kybella requires multiple sessions, and the maximum number of treatments is six. One injection per month over a six-month period may be recommended by your provider. Due to the fact that everyone’s chin profile differs, the number of treatments will vary from patient to patient. According to the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals, your healthcare specialist will recommend the number of treatment sessions you need.
Kybella sessions should be spaced one month apart at a minimum. Depending on the amount of chin fat and the desired outcome, some people may require fewer treatments.
In accordance with the manufacturer of the Kybella solution, each treatment session takes about 15 minutes. Several injection sites are selected by your provider for Kybella injections.
After one to three months, the process is repeated. After 12 weeks or at least two sessions, users report noticeable results. The best results are seen after six months, and they are meant to last up to a lifetime.
